The Sunrich series of hybrid sunflowers was bred with the florist trade in mind, producing highly uniform annuals that mature in 60 to 70 days from direct sowing. These flowers feature a single, upright stem, about 1.2-1.5m (4-5') tall, with very round blooms that have dense numbers of petals, but they produce no pollen, so they won't make a mess when they're cut and brought indoors. They make really excellent, long-lasting cut flowers, with blooms 10-15cm (4-6") across.

Sunrich Gold sunflower seeds produce exceptionally uniform flowers with densely packed golden petals surrounding a green disk, which look wonderful in the garden and possibly even better as cut flowers for wedding bouquets or general decoration. Sunflowers are the kings of the natural sunny summer garden, attracting butterflies and birds.

Not picky about soil type, sunflowers need direct sun. Thin the plants to 2 to 4 feet apart so that they can show off their foliage a bit as they grow. These flowers are hardy in USDA Zones 3-8 and should be direct sown repeatedly after the last frost date. Sow the seeds 5mm-1cm (1/4-1/2") deep, in soil with an optimal temperature for germination of 21-30°C (70-85°F). The seeds should sprout in 10-14 days.

Sunflowers planted near rows of corn are said to increase yields, and they can also be planted amid squash plantings to improve pollination and overall growth. These vibrant flowers are a wonderful addition to any summer garden, providing both beauty and benefits to the surrounding ecosystem.
